I had little interest in reading and writing as a child; television was my true love. But as a 19-year-old living in France without a TV, I discovered Jane Austen. And a love of books and the written word was born.

I have a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Washington, where I focused on newspaper writing and public relations. I have a master’s degree in journalism (emphasis on magazine editorial) from the University of Oregon. I honed my skills as an intern at mega-branding firm Publicis and at W magazine before securing an editorial job at InStyle magazine in New York City. From the main publication, I moved to the brand’s website, where I covered beauty, fashion and home. Since 2010, I have worked as a freelance writer and editor, covering health and wellness, beauty, fashion, parenting, food and drinks, travel and automotive. My work has featured in The Hollywood Reporter, HuffPost, The Zoe Report, Billboard, iVillage (now today.com), AutoTrader, as well as international publications in Australia and New Zealand. I have also done marketing copy for beauty and fashion brands, as well as PR writing for well-known food and beverage brands. My CV also includes book editing and corporate material.

How am I with deadlines and grammar, you ask? In a word: Fastidious. I’m a stickler for both.

I have completed a course in nutrition, though I have no desire to practice in the field; I’m simply passionate about balanced, joyful living and writing about it, of course.

I am an INFJ.
